Hillary comes to Hammond

And God has been laughing at Alexis and me the past few days. We've been trying to sneak out of town to see my nephew Craig play baseball for Indiana University. He's a junior outfielder there, and he leads the team in hits, runs, at-bats, and RBIs. In college baseball, you can get drafted after your junior year. It's derelict of sports broadcaster uncle Jim that I have yet to see him play college baseball except on television.

Monday. 4:22am. In bed. Musta been snoring again 'cuz there's no Alexis next to me.

Happy Monday morning. The presidential primary circus is coming to Indiana later this week, and I've been working my ass off to get an interview with one of the five candidates. It's a long shot, for sure, but so is buying the local radio station and running it for the last 12 years. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

How have the three or four of you been doing? Me too. I've been doing a lot of radio lately, with the local, state and national primaries coming up on May 3rd. There's been a decent amount of fireworks on the morning show. This Sheriff Buncich vs. Mayor McDermott thing got a lot bigger than I thought it would and it's made for some decent radio.

I really don't mind telling the three or four of you about My Radio, American Life. But I can't stand the pace of Facebook. It just moves too fast and noisy. Plus, it's addictive and dangerous.

For the three or four of you remotely interested in #myradiolife, plz note that if there's anything that I've learned, it's that all of life is temporary. Even radio. Especially radio.

A real radio host would watch the news right now.

I take that back. Since it's 10pm, a real radio host would be asleep already. I just watched Bill Maher interview Arriana Huffington about her new book on how important sleep is. Arianna says you should get 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night. Do the math. If I go to bed right now by 10:30, which is a long shot, and wake up at 4:11am, that'll be 5:41 of sleep. According to Arianna, that's not enough. According to Arianna, I'm sleep deprived.
