Where was this weather yesterday? Alexis and I drove home from Marco Island, Florida, over the past couple of days. It rained from the Florida-Georgia border to the 80-94 off ramp for Indianapolis Boulevard.
It's no porch overlooking the inter-coastal, but it's sunny and unseasonably warm. It's my backyard. I just raked a winter's worth of thatch through the Spring solstice (10:33am, central time today) and into the afternoon while listening to the NCAA tournament on WJOB.
Where was this weather yesterday? Alexis and I drove home from Marco Island, Florida, over the past couple of days. It rained from the Florida-Georgia border to the 80-94 off ramp for Indianapolis Boulevard. 18 years ago today, Alexis and I walked into the bomb shelter behind Smith Chevrolet and took ownership of one of the proudest radio stations in America. I lay awake a lot these days. Something's bothering me, and it's not the two glasses of Sangria I had at 313 Tap Room last night. It was a party for Matt Maloney Realty, which sponsors Munster High School sports on my TV and radio stations. There's a Regional basketball game this Saturday that involves my beloved Mustangs. They play Penn at noon. We'll televise the game and put it on radio. I won't be there. Michigan City, where the game will be played, is an hour away. I'll watch it in my living room.
Hump Day. I got up early and drove down to the station in the middle of the night and did an audio podcast. I am a confused individual. I tell the story of the Region and the Midwest and my own story in:
AUDIO - radio show and podcast VIDEO - TV show and video podcast BLOG - this written journal I wake up from a nap and I have to make a decision: audio, video or written journal. You tell me. This morning I recorded this audio podcast, which brings to light a quote from the lord of WJOB - Jean Shepherd. Go Shep. |
I run radio stations and a streaming video network in Hammond, Ind., and write this blog.
