Tough show today. Verlie called in on her way to Indianapolis to talk about Val Taneff, her good friend, who was there when Mike Suggs proposed to her at Asparagus in Merrillville. "That's how good of friends we were," Verlie said. Val and her daughter were strangled to death in their homes in Calumet Township. "Horribly gruesome scene," said Lake County Sheriff John Buncich.
A number of callers remembered Karen from the North Shore.
