5:40am. Sunday.
So yesterday, I: 1. in the morning helped set up for "Pints in the Park." 2. hung out at the studio with musical host Geno Sferruzza for a while on his birthday 3. interviewed a half dozen brewers at Pints 4. tasted more than a half dozen beers at Pints 5. went to Beatlesfest 6. took a ton of pictures and video at Beatlesfest 7. stopped at White Castles on the way home for some "sliders" 8:13am. Saturday.
In the ongoing effort to chronicle the travails and exploits of local radio guy (me), we gotta talk about going out into the public and doing shit. Last night, Alexis and I had dinner at John's Pizzeria in Munster. Table for two by the window, so it started out date-like enough that we could have some decent couple talk, which is essential to any marriage. Somehow the talk centered on how socially awkward I am. When we first met and would go out, you would just sit there quiet. I talked nonstop just to fill the silence. That would go on for a half hour sometimes. You would just sit there and say nothing. Friday. 8:12am.
I got off the show early but not before talking about: - 8 murders in 7 days in Gary; Sheriff Buncich admitting on Chicago TV that we may not have control of our streets - Patrick Kane, Chicago hockey hero. Rape allegations. Are you kidding me? - The Republican debate. Rubio stock rising, Rand Paul's tanking. Trump's still the leader. Jeb Bush looking like a high school librarian. It's the first Friday of the month. So that means... |
