Hammond Academy of Performing Arts and
Morton High School choir
It's been a while, so had to go off on a rant. MadMac tried to tell me that in the past when a Lake County politician was indicted that I didn't preface it with innocent until proven guilty, didn't stress "alleged" and "charges." But when Mary Elgin of Calumet Township got indicted on Friday that I've said several times "alleged" and "innocent until proven guilty"
"She's a thief. She's been guilty from the moment she took office in 2003."
She may very well be guilty of everything that the federal prosecutors say she's done.... but on WJOB we go by what the Constitution says, and that is everyone in America is innocent until proven guilty. That's where the rant started. Go listen or watch it for your own entertainment.
.... Nine young girls from the Hammond Academy of Performing Arts came in and sang three songs. Amazing. Silent Night, Carol of the Bells. You can buy their 11-song CD at DWCummins@Hammond,K12.In.us
... Caller Cindy told of a big wreck on 294 and how she sat for an hour in traffic. Cindy's from Colorado and her husband's from Houston and they somehow get together and listen to me in the morning. Go figure.
--- Will Glaros brought in Joey Sparks, Hobart football player diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Joey wrote an essay and won $1,000 and donated it to buy equipment for the Gary West Side football team. Ford Motor heard about it and bought 75 sets of equipment. Great story. Hobart football coach Ryan Turley and West Side coach Jason Johnson also came in. Listen to that.
--- Hammond Fire Department Jeff Smith told of a fire overnight at Sheffield Estates. A man died in the trailer.
.... Monday before Christmas. Life, and radio, go on.
